The District Deputy Grand Master position was created many years ago so the Lodges in the State could be heard and regulated by the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. There are currently 50 District Deputy Grand Masters in the State of Pennsylvania.  My name is Larry A. Derr, and I am currently the District Deputy Grand Master  of the !st  Masonic District of Pennsylvania. I am a member and Past Master of Ashara-Casiphia Lodge No. 551, Mount Joy, Pa. since 1973. I  belong to the Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Harrisburg Scottish Rite Consistory, Zembo Shrine, and Lancaster County Shrine Club. During the years I have served my Lodge in many capacities, and have participated in many capacities for the other organizations. My wife, Rochelle, and I have been married for 35 years and are blessed to have a son, Dustin.

The District Deputy Grand Master’s position has been the most challenging and time consuming of all the positions I have served . The rewards of being a Deputy are: meeting lots of Brothers from different Lodges, problem solving for Lodges and Brothers, involvement with the Grand Lodge Officers, and traveling outside of the District to meet Brothers I would not have otherwise met. I am both honored and privileged to have been afforded the opportunity to serve as District Deputy Grand Master of the First Masonic District.
